Father's Day 2010

I would like to wish my husband, my father, and father-in-laws a Happy Father's Day. This morning a made semi homemade donuts with cinnamon and sugar, and of course icing. This is one of Landon's favorites, but he doesn't get them very often. A reciepe from my mother-in-law. You take a regular can of biscuits, (not the grands or the flakey kind) and you deep fry them. Then we dip them in cinnamon and sugar and dunk them in icing. Oh so good, but you can see why we don't have then very often. I also took a can of biscuits, cut out the center, dipped them in butter and rolled them in sugar and then baked them. These were good but not nearly as good as the deep fried ones! Sorry I didn't take any pictures! We then headed off to church. After church we ate lunch at my parents along with my sister and her family.

Reagan and Carter with Landon, they love him so much!

Me and my dad, I've always been a daddy's girl.

This year I busted out the cricuit machine and the fabulous gypsy for some father's day gifts. I made them frames for their desks with pictures of the grandkids. I used vinyl to make the word grandkids and adhered it to the front of the glass. I think it turned out pretty good. And Shelley I did it right the first time. I thought you would be proud.

This is the one I made for Landon's dad and step-dad. I didn't have a great picture of the kids, but it can be replaced with a better one later.

This is the one I made for my dad. I took this picture of all of them on Mother's day this year.

All in all it was a pretty good day. Landon I hope you had a wonderful day, you are a GREAT father and husband. We love you very much.

Toy Story 3

Buzz Lightyear to the rescue!! Well more like Sheriff Woody to the rescue, but that is always how it is. This one was no different.

Today, we took the girls to see Toy Story 3. We all love Toy Story 1 & 2, so we were looking forward to this one. We did however decide not to see it in 3-D, well I decided anyway. The cost of those 3-D movies is ridiculous. And we went to the 1:10 showing, so we saved even more. Now if I could find a way to save money at the concession stand. Oh wait, I have a coupon, but I didn't remember it until we sat down with the large popcorn and coke in hand. It was only $1 dollar off anyway! But as you can tell the girls are always excited for the popcorn and coke. (These are probably the only times they get coke).

Here is Reagan enjoying that large tub of popcorn.

And Carter taking full advantage of that large coke.
The movie was great, as expected. There were a few sad moments, though. It kinda of pulls at the old heart strings. When we asked Carter how she liked the movie, her response "I almost cried." I said thats ok, mommy almost did too. When we got home this is what happened next...

She just couldn't hold it in anymore! When asked why she was crying, she said "it was very sad when they stepped on the necklace and that bear pulled the baby's leg." I just had to take a picture of this sweet sensitive child. Then as everyone should expect of me, I picked her up and held her for a few moments then told her that she had to the count of ten to cry it all out, then it would be over. I held her tight counted slowly to ten, then she stopped crying. See it all works out. She got to cry it out, and didn't have to be a "drama queen" about it. I know what your thinking, that I'm harsh. But that is how it works around here, and we all live more peacefully because of it.

Summer Movie Fun

Our local Malco Movie Theater has a great summer special. They play a different kid movie every week. It only costs $2 per ticket and the kids popcorn combo is a steal at $2.50. (Even though I'm pretty sure they charged me $3 a combo a couple of weeks ago.) Oh well! This week they were playing Monsters vs. Aliens. It was the first time I had seen this movie, it was pretty cute. We met up with my SIL Candice and her three kids, Maddux, Glavine, and Avery. Everyone was on their best behavior and have a earned a return visit, maybe even next week.

batter...batter..swing

Ok, so the church league softball team doesn't say batter.. batter.. swing. Monday night the girls and I went to watch Landon play softball at Ben Geren Park. This was our first game to watch this season. They played back to back games and won both. The girls had a great time. They played at the playground prior to the game starting with Jo-Elle and Gabrielle.

And of course at every game, no matter what level of sporting event, you always have to eat from the concession stand. The girls chowed down on hotdogs and cheetos.

Mini Vacation - Branson Style

The weekend before last our family traveled to Branson for a mini vacation, where we met up with the Marsico's. We stayed at The Falls condo for a couple of nights where we enjoyed some pool time, minature golf and playing at the playground.

Then we joined up with the Marsico clan at the Thousand Hills condo. We had lots of fun with these characters. We went to the Branson Landing and had dinner.

Then off to the races, go cart style. The three girls got to drive on the smaller track all by themselves, this was the highlight of the whole trip. It was so fun to watch them. Then us big kids got a turn, Reagan and I took top honors in our group.

The next day we headed to Silver Dollar City. Here is a picture of what the clouds looked like as we drove that morning.

This pic just doesn't do it justice. The clouds were insane. People were outside taking pictures of them. Lets just say these clouds dropped a little rain on us while at SDC, but it isn't always bad when it rains. The rain clouds kept lots of people from coming, so there weren't any long lines. I did however freeze for most of the morning, but within a few hours the sun was out and we had a great time.

The most exciting thing about our trip to SDC, was that my five year old daughter rode the Powder Keg, a super fast moving roller coster, for the first time. So of course we had to buy the picture of this most exciting event.

She said that she would wait awhile before riding that one again. We all had lots of fun and hope to do it again soon.

Blog World Here I Come!

I finally made it, to the blog world that is. My plan is to share a little about me and my family on a regular basis to all who care. As I attempt this fun but challenging adventure, please bear with me, as I'm sure it will be slow moving at first.
