Disney Vacation, Day Four

Day Four started with a little swimming and relaxing by the pool.

Then we got dressed and headed back to Monkey Joe's. This time it was opened! They have several inflatables that the girls played on. It was a really neat place to spend a few hours. The girls had a blast.

After finishing up at Monkey Joe's, the girls wanted to try this bungee jump that they had seen the day before. They hook you up to harnesses and you bounce on a trampoline. You can go pretty high. Reagan went first, and she really liked it.

Then Carter decided that she would give it a try. Here she is attempting, well thinking about doing a back flip.

We then headed back to the condo to get changed for dinner. We were going out to Ruth Chris Steakhouse. It was our first time eating at one of these. We stopped and had a photo opp, before heading to dinner.

Me and the girls.

My mom, dad, Reagan, Carter, and myself outside the restaurant.

The food was wonderful, great steak and a very yummy cheesecake!

Then back to the condo, we had to get a good nights rest. Animal Kingdom in the morning!

Disney Vacation, Day Three

Happy Fourth of July!

The 3rd day of our vacation was July 4th. So we all dressed up in our red, white, and blue.

We headed to a local mall, to play at a place called Monkey Joes. But when we arrived there they were closed for a private party. So we walked around for a short time and took a few pictures. Here is Gran Gran and Grandad with the girls.

The men and children dropped me and mom off at a better mall for about an hour. In the meantime they decided they wanted Godfather Pizza. So with their GPS in tote, they set off to find one. They did alright, a gas station. So they came and picked us up at the mall, to early if you asked me, we didn't buy anything. Then we set out to find another God Father's. We did, another gas station. At this time we decided that would have to do. So we placed our order and took it back to the condo. We had heard that Downtown Disney would be having a firework show. So that evening we load up and fight the bumper to bumper traffic to Downtown Disney. We finally get there only not to find a parking spot. We even had a handicap sticker and still couldn't find one. So my mom and dad drop me, Landon and the girls off. We walk up to the entrance only to find a sign that reads: No Fireworks Tonight! I was really upset. What no fireworks on the 4th? I did however snap this pic of the girls.

We ended up just going back to the condo. And that my friends ended day 3 of our vacation. I promise it gets better, lots better.

Disney Vacation, Day Two

So day two started off with, you guessed it, more driving! It actually wasn't that bad. The girls had stuff to occupy themselves. Carter is drawing on a dry erase board that both girls have. Reagan also worked on sight words and reading. And of course they watched more movies.

We arrived at our condo that afternoon. The first thing we saw was this raccoon by the dumpster. Landon just had to take a picture. It just looked right at him, like he was smiling at the camera. Believe it or not Landon wasn't the only one taking pictures. Other guests were too!

That night we took the girls to the "The World's Largest McDonald's." This was a mad house! It was like Chuck E. Cheese on steroids. They had games, rides, live entertainment, play ground and much more. The girls had a blast.

After that we were exhausted and headed back to the condo.

Disney World Vacation, Prep & Day 1

We just went on a family vacation to the "happiest place on earth," at least that is their motto. But I do have to say that Disney World lived up to our expectations.

My parents took the four of us for a wonderful, fun-filled adventure the first week in July. Since we did so much stuff and I took lots of pictures, I thought I would break up the blogs by days. Some days will require a couple of parts. But here we go.

Prior to day one, began the preparation. I wanted the girls to have cute shirts to wear to the Magic Kingdom, so around here you turn to "Gigi's Creations". I picked out the material and made a Mickey silhouette from the Cricuit machine. Then Gigi worked her magic. This is how they turned out:
I loved them. My plan was to add a pink bow, to turn the Mickey into a Minnie, but it didn't work out. But they were so cute. We even got compliments on them at Disney World.

My other project was to make autograph books. I didn't want to just buy the ones that everyone has. So I purchased little black spiral notebooks with blank cardstock paper inside. They were on the scrapbook isle at Hobby Lobby. Then I cricuted a super cute Minnie Mouse and welded the girls names using the gypsy.

Didn't they turn out so cute. I then attached a ring to one of the spirals with a mini sharpie attached. A note to anyone else that plans on going to Disney World, take a full size sharpie. The characters with "paws" have a very hard time gripping the small markers.

We left my parents house on a Friday morning at 6:30. So we spent the night there Thursday night. We had already pre-loaded the van. So we were ready to go that next morning. We stopped and had breakfast in Conway. Then on the road again.

Reagan was bright and chipper that morning because she had fallen asleep in our car while we packed our car at our house and drove to my parents. Carter on the other hand stayed awake all through the packing the car, driving to my parents, packing their van, and visiting some with the grandparents before crashing on the couch. So Friday morning this was Carter:

My parents just bought a new van, and they have two dvd players with headphones. This was very useful.

We drove to Yazoo, MS before stopping for lunch. We stopped at this "hole in the wall" diner. They had very tasty hamburgers and chocolate shakes. The girls played a little game of (old school) Mrs. Pacman.

Then they enjoyed chicken strip, french fries, and chocolate shakes. The lunch for champions, Right? Anyway, what is vacation for!

Back on the road again. We stopped in Mobile, AL for dinner and was hoping to stay the night in a hotel. But because of the oil spill, the government had pre-booked alot of hotel rooms. So not being able to find a hotel on the coast, we headed inland. Tallahassee is where we settled in for the night. And that concluded the first day of our vacation. I know it is probably boring for all of you, but we had a good time. We had to get there somehow, might as well document our whole travels.

I'm Back!

I know it has been over a month since my last blog. I have been very busy doing lots of fun stuff. Now I have some time to blog about all those things that have kept the Myers' hoppin. If you know me very well, you know the July is the most hetic time of the year for us. Enough excuses I'm ready to blog.

Father's Day 2010

I would like to wish my husband, my father, and father-in-laws a Happy Father's Day. This morning a made semi homemade donuts with cinnamon and sugar, and of course icing. This is one of Landon's favorites, but he doesn't get them very often. A reciepe from my mother-in-law. You take a regular can of biscuits, (not the grands or the flakey kind) and you deep fry them. Then we dip them in cinnamon and sugar and dunk them in icing. Oh so good, but you can see why we don't have then very often. I also took a can of biscuits, cut out the center, dipped them in butter and rolled them in sugar and then baked them. These were good but not nearly as good as the deep fried ones! Sorry I didn't take any pictures! We then headed off to church. After church we ate lunch at my parents along with my sister and her family.

Reagan and Carter with Landon, they love him so much!

Me and my dad, I've always been a daddy's girl.

This year I busted out the cricuit machine and the fabulous gypsy for some father's day gifts. I made them frames for their desks with pictures of the grandkids. I used vinyl to make the word grandkids and adhered it to the front of the glass. I think it turned out pretty good. And Shelley I did it right the first time. I thought you would be proud.

This is the one I made for Landon's dad and step-dad. I didn't have a great picture of the kids, but it can be replaced with a better one later.

This is the one I made for my dad. I took this picture of all of them on Mother's day this year.

All in all it was a pretty good day. Landon I hope you had a wonderful day, you are a GREAT father and husband. We love you very much.

Toy Story 3

Buzz Lightyear to the rescue!! Well more like Sheriff Woody to the rescue, but that is always how it is. This one was no different.

Today, we took the girls to see Toy Story 3. We all love Toy Story 1 & 2, so we were looking forward to this one. We did however decide not to see it in 3-D, well I decided anyway. The cost of those 3-D movies is ridiculous. And we went to the 1:10 showing, so we saved even more. Now if I could find a way to save money at the concession stand. Oh wait, I have a coupon, but I didn't remember it until we sat down with the large popcorn and coke in hand. It was only $1 dollar off anyway! But as you can tell the girls are always excited for the popcorn and coke. (These are probably the only times they get coke).

Here is Reagan enjoying that large tub of popcorn.

And Carter taking full advantage of that large coke.
The movie was great, as expected. There were a few sad moments, though. It kinda of pulls at the old heart strings. When we asked Carter how she liked the movie, her response "I almost cried." I said thats ok, mommy almost did too. When we got home this is what happened next...

She just couldn't hold it in anymore! When asked why she was crying, she said "it was very sad when they stepped on the necklace and that bear pulled the baby's leg." I just had to take a picture of this sweet sensitive child. Then as everyone should expect of me, I picked her up and held her for a few moments then told her that she had to the count of ten to cry it all out, then it would be over. I held her tight counted slowly to ten, then she stopped crying. See it all works out. She got to cry it out, and didn't have to be a "drama queen" about it. I know what your thinking, that I'm harsh. But that is how it works around here, and we all live more peacefully because of it.
